Archive or restore a machine
A machine that has been sold or taken out of the fleet no longer needs to be tracked. Archive it: its history is kept and you can restore it at any time.
Step 1 : Open the machine editor
Tap the cog-shaped icon on the machine's card (see edit a machine).
Step 2 : Archive
At the very bottom of the window, click “Archive this machine” (on a phone, the “i” badge next to it explains archiving). Confirm in the window that opens.
Step 3 : Check
The “Machine archived” message appears. The machine disappears from the list, the counters and the dashboard: no more due dates, reminders or alerts, and it is no longer billed.
Step 4 : Restore it if needed
In “Machines”, scroll to the very bottom of the page: a collapsible “Archived machines” section (with their number) appears when there are some. Open it and click “Restore” on the machine's row. The “Machine restored” message confirms: it is tracked and billed again.
Good to know
- Archiving depends on your plan: if the “Archive this machine” button does not appear, your plan does not offer it. See the plans page.
- Archiving and restoring are reserved for the manager.
- Unlike deletion, archiving keeps the history: to erase a machine permanently, see delete a machine.
