The "Add the machine" button is greyed out: what to do
When you add a machine, KALEA only saves it if it has a maintenance plan and a photo. While one of the two is missing, the button stays greyed out and a sentence under the form tells you which one.
Step 1 : Read the sentence under the form
Scroll to the bottom of the “Add a machine” window. A sentence starting with “To save, you still need” names what is missing: the maintenance plan, the machine's photo, or both.
Step 2 : Add the maintenance plan
Upload the manufacturer's manual in “Manufacturer's service manual”, or type at least one task in “Maintenance tasks” (for example: oil change, greasing, filter check). The button un-greys as soon as the box contains a task.
Step 3 : Add the photo
In “Equipment photo”, tap “Choose a photo” to pick a file, or “Take a photo” to use the camera.
Step 4 : Save
When the sentence has disappeared, click “Add the machine”. If a red message appears, fix the field it points to and try again.
Good to know
- If you uploaded a manual, the flow changes: KALEA first shows the “Plan suggested by our algorithm” screen, then the “Last step” screen, where the “Save the machine” button stays greyed out until there is a photo. See understand the suggested plan.
- If you upload a PDF and have not chosen a photo, the first page of the manual is used as the machine's photo.
- Possible messages when saving: the current reading must be entered (0 if the machine is new); with “Already done”, the reading at the last service must be entered and cannot exceed the current reading; with “Other…” in the category list, the category name must be written.
- The meter reading is no longer required if you choose the “Calendar-based” mode yourself.
