KALEA

Create a telemetry source and note its token

A source is the channel through which your machines' hours or kilometres arrive: a tracker, another system, or your manufacturer's account. You create it once, then link your machines to it.

  1. Step 1 : Open telemetry

In “Machines”, open the “Telemetry” tab. The “Automatic counter (telemetry)” block lists your sources. This tab is reserved for the Administrator and Director.

  2. Step 2 : Name the source and choose its type

Under “New source”, give a name (for example "Workshop trackers"). In “Source type”, choose “Trackers via Flespi”, “Other system (API)” or “Manufacturer account (ISO 15143-3)”.

  3. Step 3 : Create the source

Click “Create source”. For a manufacturer account, first fill in the fields that appear (API address, sign-in mode, credentials).

  4. Step 4 : Copy the token right away

For trackers and the other system, KALEA shows the address and the token (x-kalea-token header) with the message "Copy this token now: it will never be shown again." Tap “Copy” next to each and keep them safe.

Good to know

  • The token is shown only once. If lost, it cannot be shown again: revoke the source with “Revoke” and create a new one.
  • Revoking a source puts the linked machines back to manual entry, and the tracker can no longer send readings.
  • With Flespi, KALEA tells you to create an "HTTP stream" to the address shown, with the custom header x-kalea-token; the machine's identifier is the tracker's "ident", often its IMEI.
  • For a manufacturer account, “Test” checks the connection and “Link my machines” matches your machines with the manufacturer's by serial number.
  • Your subscription provides the connection and tracking in KALEA; the hardware and its installation (trackers, SIM cards, fitting) are at your expense, or subject to a quote. It is optional: manual meter entry remains possible everywhere.
  • This feature depends on your plan: see the plans.
