What does "Auto · no signal" mean on a machine?
On the card of a machine linked to a tracker, a small "Auto" badge says where the automatic meter stands. It only says what KALEA knows: the latest reading received.
Step 1 : Spot the badge
It is next to the machine's name, in “Machines”. Three cases: "Auto · … ago" (a reading arrived recently), “Auto · waiting” (no reading received yet) and “Auto · no signal” (no reading for more than 3 days).
Step 2 : Read the latest reading
In “Telemetry”, the “Linked machines” block shows "Latest automatic reading" for each machine, and the source's line gives its "last signal" (or "no signal received").
Step 3 : Check the tracker
For “Auto · no signal”, the badge's tooltip says: "No reading received for more than 3 days: check the tracker." Also check that the identifier entered in “Tracker identifier” is the right one.
Step 4 : Take over if needed
Meanwhile, you can enter the meter by hand, or put the machine back to “Manual entry” then click “Save”.
Good to know
- “Auto · waiting” is normal just after linking a machine: the first reading has not arrived yet. The tooltip says: "Machine linked to a tracker: waiting for the first reading."
- While the Telemetry screen is open, meters update by themselves regularly, without reloading the page.
- This article only describes what KALEA shows. If the tracker is at fault, see its manufacturer's or your supplier's documentation.
