Follow up and resolve a reported fault
A reported fault goes through three states: open, taken over, resolved. The manager and management access move it forward.
Step 1 : Open the list of faults
Manager: on the dashboard, in the “Points of attention” section, tap the “Faults” tile: it shows the number of open faults and, if any, how many machines are stopped. Management access: tap the “Track” tile in the “To do now” section. On a phone, you can also use the + button, then “Reported faults”.
Step 2 : Choose what you want to see
The “Open” and “Resolved” buttons filter the list. Each row gives the machine, the state, the description, the severity, the date and the person who reported it.
Step 3 : Take the fault over
On an open fault, click “Take over”: it moves to the “Taken over” state. If work orders are available in your plan, “Create a work order” lets you entrust the repair to someone.
Step 4 : Mark it resolved
When the machine is repaired, click “Mark resolved”. The “Resolve the fault” window opens. If the machine was stopped, the “Downtime hours (working hours)” are pre-filled with an estimate: correct them if needed. You can add a “Note (optional)”. Confirm with “Mark resolved”.
Good to know
- The downtime estimate counts working days (Monday to Friday) over the length of the fault, without exceeding the time that has actually elapsed.
- Downtime is only costed if an hourly downtime cost is set for the machine or its category. Otherwise, KALEA warns you that the downtime will not be costed.
- Data-entry and purchasing access do not see the list of faults.
- Resolved faults feed the statistics (faults, downtime hours, average resolution time): see read the statistics.
