Read a machine's TCO scorecard
The TCO scorecard sums up in a few figures what a machine costs and whether it is still worth keeping.
Step 1 : Open the machine's plan
In “Machines”, open the “Maintenance plans” tab and tap “View the plan” on the machine.
Step 2 : Find the card
Under the buttons at the top, the “TCO scorecard” card shows the initial purchase price and, on the right, KALEA's recommendation.
Step 3 : Read the figures
“Effective cost price”: the cost per hour or per kilometre. “Total cumulative expenses”: maintenance and operating costs. “Lifespan used”: the share of life already used. “Estimated residual value”: the estimated resale value. “Maintenance / purchase ratio”: maintenance relative to the purchase price.
Step 4 : Read the recommendation
It takes the form "KALEA recommendation: …" with, depending on the calculation base, “Cost-effective”, “Turning point” or “Consider replacement”, or a sentence about annual depreciation.
Good to know
- The card does not appear if the machine has no purchase price: see enter the purchase price.
- An “Alert” badge appears when the lifespan used reaches 90% or when maintenance reaches half the purchase price.
- If the machine has had breakdowns with downtime, a “Downtime cost” figure is added.
- On a phone, only the card's header is visible: tap it to unfold the figures.
- The card is only shown if the Costs & TCO module is available to you, depending on your plan: see the plans.
