Working without a network: what stays available
On a poorly covered site or workshop, KALEA keeps a copy of the latest data received. You keep reading it and logging the essentials; everything is sent when the network returns.
Step 1 : Check that the copy is turned on
Open “My account”, “Local data & Security” section. The “Keep a copy for offline reading” box must be ticked. On a shared device, it is better to untick it: the copy is then erased from the device.
Step 2 : Open KALEA without a network
When you are already signed in, the app opens with the latest data and shows an “Offline” banner stating how old that data is. The banner's “Try again” button tries the connection again. If your session has expired (signing out on purpose erases the copy), the sign-in screen offers “No signal or offline?” with the “Show the last offline data” button.
Step 3 : Read what is kept
Still readable: the machines and their plans, the stock, the maintenance kits, the work orders, the breakdowns and the purchase orders. Some screens still need the network, such as team management, certifications, an order's history or an intervention's report.
Step 4 : Log what is possible
Without a network, you can log an intervention, report a breakdown, start, tick and complete a work order, enter an expense, make a stock movement (issue, receipt, transfer) and read a meter. Each action is kept on the device.
Step 5 : Wait for the network to return
When the connection returns, everything is sent automatically, in order. To follow what is waiting, see the “To send” banner (meter readings are not listed there: they are sent on their own when the network returns).
Good to know
- These stay online: creating, editing, cancelling, approving or rejecting an order, adding an amendment, machine import, inventories, receiving a purchase order and stock adjustments. KALEA says so for cancelling, approving or rejecting an order, for the amendment and for the adjustment; for the others, saving simply fails for lack of a network.
- The copy is valid for seven days then erased; it is also erased when you sign out. It belongs to each person in each company.
- On the web, the KALEA page itself reopens without a network; the Android app already includes its files.
- Without a network, nothing is sent twice: each action carries a unique identifier.
