Create a work order

A work order is a maintenance task you give to someone: which machine, what to do, by when. Creating one takes two short screens.

  1. Step 1 : Open the list and start the creation

In the menu, open “Schedule”, then the “Work orders” tab. Click “New order”.

  2. Step 2 : Choose the machine

The “Create a work order” window opens. Search for the machine by name, make, registration or serial number, or filter by category. Tap the machine, then click “Continue to the work order tasks”.

  3. Step 3 : List the tasks to do

In the “Task type” section, tick the tasks from the machine's maintenance plan. For a task that is not in the plan, type it in the “Other task” field and click “Add”. You can add several tasks.

  4. Step 4 : Set the scheduling

Choose the “Priority” (Low, Normal, High or Urgent) and the person in “Assigned to” (or leave “Unassigned”). The “Due date (optional)” and “Estimated duration in hours (optional)” fields are optional.

  5. Step 5 : Create the order

Click “Create the order”. The order appears in the list with its number, like “OT-12”.

Good to know

  • There is no title to type: the order is defined by its tasks. The task list also serves as the title in the list and in the search.
  • If you forget the tasks, KALEA tells you: you must tick at least one plan task or add another one.
  • The “Back” button in the second window takes you back to the machine choice.
  • Creating an order needs a connection: it cannot be done without a network (see working without a network).
  • Work orders depend on your plan and your access level. If the menu is missing: I cannot see work orders.
